Contest of Application Star Awards to find the Next Great iPhone Application

Recently, AppsFire, a web service to share iPhone applications with anyone, has announced a contest that called Application Star Awards. They are doing the contest in a partnership.

The idea comes in light as sharing of iPhone application on web. Now, anyone who has iPhone application doesn’t require to jailbreak. The person can submit a 30 second video to the contest. A person can submit his application even that is not finished totally.

This contest gives you 30 clips pre-selected which will be submitted 10 in each category. Games, entertainment, utility and others are the main category for App Star Awards contest.

All the clips will be reviewed by a jury. There will total three winners, one from each category. Each winner will get a check of $1,500 and a free ad campaign with participating partners.

On 9th December, 2009, the result will be announced at LeWeb in Paris. You can pre-registration on AppsFire. Now, pre-registration is open on the site but submission will open from 23rd November, 2009 only.

Michael Arrington, Loic Le Meur, Marshall Kirkpatrick and Robert Scoble are participating as jury members in App Star Awards.

Apple iPhone applications already have gotten good popularity in various categories such as student’s applications, dictionary application and iCover application. Now, the contest for iPhone application will make iPhone more popular in mobile phones market also.

App Star Awards is the idea of marketing and ad by big chunks of web. They want to gather those people on web that are accessing web from mobile most of the time. It will connect basic people also on web who have been using iPhone.
